Although we are below the Governor DeWine’s mandate for gatherings 100 people or more, we feel it is appropriate to cancel and reschedule the Court of Honor that was supposed to happen this coming Monday March 16, as well as cancelling the meetings for the following two weeks, March 23 and March 30. As you probably know, St. Michael, as well as most other churches and schools in Ohio have shut down all activities and meetings across the board in response the order. While we discussed potentially meeting at alternate locations, in the end the general consensus was to err on the side of caution and suspend meetings.
Further, the Caving Campout scheduled for next weekend, March 20-22, is cancelled. This move is based on both low numbers signed up to go as of the last meeting as well as the final arrangements and meal plans were to be made Monday after the Court.
We would like to tentatively plan to have an outdoor activity of some sort on Saturday, April 4, possibly a short hike locally to get the Scouts back together and an opportunity for the PLC to gather and plan the meetings that will hopefully resume on Monday, April 6. Please try to keep this date available, we will have more information as it comes closer as things progress with the novel coronavirus situation.
In addition, to Troop activities, the Simon Kenton Council has cancelled the Maple Fest at Camp Lazarus this weekend (March 14) and the Buckeye District Court of Honor Dinner on March 14.
