Simon Kenton Council Day of Giving 3/26/2026

Simon Kenton Council (SKC) is conducting a Day of Giving campaign on March 26th to help ensure all local Cubs and Scouts have an opportunity to participate regardless of financial means.  Donations can start now.  We have until the end of March to reach our Troop 123 fundraising goal.  This is a direct donation to the SKC that impacts all Scouting groups in the area.  Donations are not directly used by Troop 123.

Listed below are the two ways to donate. We recommend the first method accessible by the link below;

Day of Giving 2026 | Support Simon Kenton Council | Scouting Gives

1. Donate using the online tool (i.e. Donate Tab)

2. Under the “Email A Pledge” tab, email a pledge to the “Gateway District” leaders Shay Hoelscher or Marty McKew.  Make sure to include your name, address, amount and billing frequency you’re pledging in the email.

For both methods above, please include our Unit and District: “Troop 123, Gateway District”

If you have questions, contact Brett Gissel during a Troop Meeting.

CANCELLED: Troop Meeting January 26, 2026

Due to the continuing weather emergency the Troop 123 meeting for January 26 is cancelled. Although the emergency weather warning has dropped to Level 2 in Franklin County, many of the side streets are still in bad shape. Scouts should do their part to help neighbors in need to clear driveways and sidewalks for those who cannot easily do so as a good turn for today.

Please remember that Scout Sunday is this coming Sunday 2/1 and we will attend 8:30am Mass as a troop. Please meet in Marion Hall at 8:10 to line up for Mass as we will process in as a Troop along side the Pack. Please be in Class A uniform looking sharp for the parishioners to see. This is also Friendship Sunday; donuts, milk and juice will be served after Mass sponsored by the Pack 123.

Annual Planning for Scout Year 2025-2026

This Sunday (August 10) is the Troop’s annual planning conference. This is a very important event where the scout leadership of the Troop makes the calendar and makes the monthly themes for the next scouting year. Everything from monthly campouts to where we go for summer camp and high adventure is planned. Not only is this for our current scouts, but is used to promote our Troop and is placed on materials for recruitment of new scouts. While this conference is MANDATORY for any scout with a leadership position, we extend an invitation to all of the scouts in the Troop to take part. The Supron family has graciously offered their residence for this event as well as providing dinner for all participants.
