Assistant Scoutmaster Joe Soller wanted to send out an idea for scouts looking for something to do.
There are a lot of merit badges you can work on at this time, for instance some white ringers like Family Life, Hiking, the Citizenship trifecta, Personal Fitness, Personal Management, and Sustainability. Sites like U.S. Scouting Service Project, Inc. and Scouts BSA can be used to see the requirements for each merit badges. The USSP site also provides downloadable work sheets.
The Troop’s Advancement>Merit Badges website has additional merit badge resources and a list of all the Troop’s merit badge counselors. You can email them (make sure to copy your parents) that you want to start working on one, and they can help you work out a plan.
You can also learn or refresh your knowledge of some of the scout skills like knots and first aid, then at the next meeting you can demonstrate the skill and get these signed off.
Hope everyone is well and continues to “Be Prepared” for the future.
