Troop 123 meets on Monday nights at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Worthington, Ohio. The troop runs a very active and exciting program designed to get the most out of your Scout. We go camping at least once a month all year round and go to summer camp every summer, for a week. These campouts offer your Scout plenty of opportunities for advancement, learning about the outdoors, cooking, and team building. We also do hiking, caving, shooting, pioneering skills, and much more, all while having FUN. Our Troop meetings and Courts of Honor are run by the Scouts and for the Scouts. We’re an enthusiastic Troop that encourages participation and FUN. For the older Scouts, 14+ and First Class, we have a Venture program that does several High Adventure trips a year. From visiting the United States Naval Academy to learning how to scuba dive, we have something to keep our older Scouts involved.
Troop 123 is a boy led Troop. Our boy leaders are trained and experienced and will see that your Scout Does His Best. Our Scouts range in age from 10 to 17, with the older Scouts holding the key leadership positions. Several of our older Scouts have served on Simon Kenton Council Summer Camp Staffs and have participated in and been part of the staffs of many Buckeye District Camporees and other Scouting events. Our Troop strongly believes in our Scouts giving back to Scouting and most of our Scouts exceed their service hour requirement. Our older Scouts not only lead Troop 123 but show the younger Scouts the ways of Scouting, both in actions and in teaching them the Scout skills needed for advancement. These Scouts don’t lead without support. Troop 123 has about a 2:1 ratio of Scouts to trained adult leaders. Our adults are committed to Scouting and our Scouts.
