Buckeye District Scouting E News: October 2018

This issue of the Buckeye District eNews is coming a little early because there are some important deadlines looming.

PLEASE reach out to the leaders in your units to make sure everyone has completed the new Youth Protection Training by September 30. If a leader (including Merit Badge Counselors) has not completed it, they will not be included on the Unit Recharter roster which will be accessible October 1 when Internet Rechartering opens up. Every YPT untrained leader will have to submit proof of having taken YPT AND a new adult leader application and be processed as a new leader. See details in the E News.

Fall is here! It is amazing how fast the summer flies by – don’t let these beautiful Fall days go by without getting your Scouts outside. Remember the biggest part of scOUTING is OUTING.

Shoot o Ree is NEXT WEEK and Monster Mash is just 3 weeks away. Let your newly registered Cub Scouts (and current Cubs) discover the FUN Scouting has to offer.

Don’t miss the October 4th Roundtable. Cub Scout leaders will get information about creating a Training Culture in your Pack.
The Boy Scouts will be exploring ideas for exciting, challenging, and action packed Camporees. We want the ideas that your Scouts would be eager to participate in.
Get all the info in this issue of the E News

Buckeye District will have a Recharter Kickoff October 6. It is very important that every unit be represented to learn about new procedures and how to deal with leaders who did not complete YPT in time.

Don’t miss the activity opportunities – Hikes, Overnights, Service Opportunities, Open Houses, Merit Badges and more.

There are also many Training Course details in the E News – don’t miss out.

PLEASE forward this issue of the E News to all the units in your area and all the leaders/parents in your units.
