Troop 123 July/August 2019

Now that camp is over the Troop is in Summer mode.  Class B uniforms may be worn to Troop meetings through July and August until Labor Day.  If you need a board of review for rank advancement, you MUST present in full class A.  We encourage everyone to attend as many meetings as possible over the summer as we still have a lot of activities going on and a lot of opportunities to rank up and work on merit badges.

The Patrol Leaders’ Council (PLC) has planned the next four meetings as follows:

  • July 8: Summer camp wrap up.  Get partial merit badge cards from camp and find the appropriate counselor to finish the requirements in time for the Fall court of honor or start on a new merit badge.
  • July 22: First Aid exercises
  • August 5: Rank advancement and 1st class physical requirements.  Finish up the next rank before the Fall court of honor.
  • August 12: Patrol maintenance.  Patrol meetings, working on patrol unity.

Up and coming events:

August 18: Annual planning conference.  The PLC will plan the calendar for the next year. Members of the Troop that are not part of the PLC should let their leadership know what kind of events, camp outs, next year summer camp location and other activities they would like the Troop to do for the coming year.

August 23-25: Mohican River Canoeing Camp out. The last camp out of the summer will be the canoeing camp out on the Mohican River in Loudonville, OH. Cost will be $67.00. This includes camping costs, food costs, a 15 mile canoe trip down the Mohican River, mini-golf and go-kart rides.  Details and sign up sheets will be coming soon.
