As the weather cools down, and we all being to ponder back to school, it can only mean that Scout Popcorn season is right around the corner. The council raises about 25% of its budget through the popcorn sale, and Scouts can earn at least 32% of all sales, to be credited to their Scout account.
We will discuss more fully at the Monday August 10 meeting, however:
- Each Scout family should have received an email with your Scout’s code for online selling. Customers simply visit the PRPopcornstore.com to place an order (free shipping), and the Scouts will receive a credit of 35% of sales. Let’s encourage our Scouts to hit the online selling hard, perhaps sharing posts in online forums like Facebook or Nextdoor.
- At the meeting, we will discuss the “Show and Sell” process, which allows Scouts to take popcorn around their neighborhood to sell. Given the nature of COVID-19, I do not anticipate placing a significant Show & Sell order at the start of the selling season, and stocking popcorn. I may ask Scouts to give me a list of items they wish to take on a Show & Sell basis and will limit our order thusly.
Please, do not hesitate to reach out with questions.
